How did a small B4 baler help compact cut-off from filtering masks production?
5 november 2020
The company MB Filter Polska, a producer of filtering masks, was looking for a machine for compacting production waste. They are a manufacturer of high-quality products based on their own technological solutions and the experience of MB Filter Products AB Sweden. Their daily challenge was cut-off waste taking up too much space.
Baler replaced an industrial vaccum cleaner
MB Filter Polska have a lot of plastic waste from their production of filter masks. Such masks offer protection in dusty and pollen-rich environments.
When our sales consultant visited the company, it turned out that the cut-off waste from masks production is kept in bags that are difficult to store, and even more difficult to stack. The customer explained how they tried to reduce the volume of their plastic waste. They simply used an industrial vacuum cleaner to remove air. Such a solution was neither easy nor effective, and also very time-consuming.
Baler B4 makes small, handy bales
Our district manager suggested the B4 baler, which is able to cope well, even with unusual waste types like the cut-off from masks. This machine has a high pressure force, produces well-compressed bales that are easy to handle and store, and the baler itself takes up little space.
Because the bales are light and compact, the operator need not use a forklift to move them from the baler and to the storage area, where they are kept until collection.
Cut-off from filtering masks compacted into handy bales
After installing the machine at the customer's site, two bales of optimal weight were made: 33.65 kg (for loose material) and 36.65 (for rolled material). In total, two bags of waste (each about 15 kg) fit in one bale.
The customer was recomended to put cardboard dividers at the bottom and the top of the plastic bale. One cardboard divider is placed inside the baler chamber before loading waste, and one is placed at the top just before final compaction of the bale. In this way, the finished bales are compact and very easy to transport.
